  • Cynthia Rowley Has Many Talents

RxArt Board Member Cynthia Rowley has many talents that go beyond the fashion runway.  Not only does she have a great eye for art but also produces some great art of her own. Recently, Cynthia has contributed to LittleCollector.com ~ a contemporary art gallery for kids offering limited-edition works.  However, it’s a great website for all ages to enjoy!

The kind people at Little Collector graciously donate a portion of their proceeds to RxArt. Thank you Little Collector!

  • Trenton Doyle Hancock

Our project list continues to grow here at RxArt and we are excited about an upcoming project with artist Trenton Doyle Hancock.  We are working together with Trenton Doyle Hancock to transform an entryway to the Pediatric Imaging suite at Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston, Texas, to a place that will provide hope and inspiration to young patients.  This will be a great project and RxArt will be sure to update all of our followers out there on the progress of this and many more exciting new projects from RxArt.

  • Gung Hay Fat Choy!

    Yoshitomo Nara:  Bunny Boy

Happy Chinese New Year!!!  Today marks the start of the new Chinese lunar year.  This year is the Year of the Rabbit.  If you were born in 1927, 1939, 1951, 1963, 1975, 1987 or 1999, also all rabbit years, this is your year!!!

So if you remember those paper place mats from your favorite Chinese food establishment with the Chinese Zodiac Calendar on them, then this is what it says about you Rabbits. People born in the Year of the Rabbit are articulate, talented, and ambitious. They are virtuous, reserved, and have excellent taste. Rabbit people are admired, trusted, and are often financially lucky. They are fond of gossip but are tactful and generally kind. Rabbit people seldom lose their temper. They are clever at business and being conscientious, never back out of a contract. They are most compatible with those born in the years of the Sheep, Pig, and Dog.

We are sure it won’t be his last.

  • KAWS Lights Up The Standard Hotel

RxArt friend and supporter Brian Donnelly, aka KAWS, had a great 2010.  Last year we saw everything from his successful solo exhibition at the The Aldrich Museum, his newest coveted vinyl toy releases to a signature clothing line, Original Fake.  Not to mention that KAWS released a book about his outstanding work detailing his early works, commercial products, and insight into his world.

The start of 2011 for KAWS picks up right where 2010 left off with another great collaborative effort with The Standard Hotel.

KAWS lights up The Standard Hotel by literally leaving his mark on the light bulbs!  It is a collection of 3 light bulbs - Red, Purple, and Green filaments bearing the KAWS’ signature XX.
