Just in time for the fashion elite to trick out their christmas trees this season, Emporio Armani plays sponsor and host to the annual RxArt ball tomorrow evening, benefiting RxArt, which adorns hospitals and other healthcare facilities with frine art in an effort to inspire and heal patients. Ornaments custom-created by some of New York’s cultural szars will be auctioned off at a cocktail party co-chaired by the likes of Jeanne Greenberg Rohtyn and William Sofield.

Among those that have lent their artistic talent to this year’s crop of decorations are Zac Posen, Giorgio Armani--whose ornaments features 1,700 Swarvoski crystals and was inspired by the finale dress from his spring/summer 2005 runway show--and Anna Sui, who whipped up a glass and rhinestone rendition based on her frangrance bottle. Even Plum Sykes got in on the action. The Bergdorf Blondes author created a Bergdorf Blonde Ball by chopping up a cover of her book, taking all the icons and along with fake blonde hair, stuffing it all inside the ornament and wrapping it with a Bergdorf’s ribbon. “I thought any girl would love to hang something silly and girly like that on a tree,” she said. “My own tree has only pale pink decorations this year, so I guess girly Christmas ornaments are my theme.”
